From elaborate permanent stages that form the centrepiece of the venue to versatile portable stages that can be put up, taken down and moved around as needed, these days, there is an array of stages on offer to suit every need.

Whether you need a robust stage that stands the test of time, or a flexible stage that can adapt and change with your needs, the wide selection of stage options available allows you to select a stage that ticks every box. Plus, if you need something unique to suit your venue or purpose, our design team can work with you to custom-design a stage to your exact requirements.

With so many types of stages available, it can be hard to know which one is the right fit. So in this article, we’re sharing an overview of our most popular stages to help you uncover the right stage for you.

Permanent Stages

For buildings that hold regular concerts, shows, performances or lectures, such as entertainment and arts venues, education facilities, churches and community halls, the stage is often the centrepiece of the space. In this case, if there is no need to pack up or move the stage in between performances, a permanent stage is ideal. As all of our permanent stages are made-to-order in Australia, there is plenty of flexibility in what you can achieve, in terms of size, height, materials and finishing touches.

Our design team will work with you to create a permanent stage that not only looks the part and is built to purpose, but also includes the necessary specifications to meet Australian safety and compliance requirements. Some fine examples of permanent stages can be found on our project pages, including the impressive 8.3m x 6.1m timber stage at Neutral Bay Public School, built over an existing permanent stage structure to modernise and enhance the aesthetics and improve safety.

Portable Stages

Portable stages are ideal where flexibility is needed to utilise a stage in different ways, at varying times and/or in multiple locations. We offer two types of stages in our portable range:

a) The QUATTRO Modular System is made up of 2m x 1m podiums which can be arranged in multiple configurations and various heights.
b) The Diva Fold and Roll System is designed for ease of use. It is wheeled into place for fast set up and pack down and can be assembled by one person.

Examples of the versatility of portable stages can be seen in Tempo Rubato, a serene music venue that showcases piano performances, as well as the Cheltenham Girls High School QUATTRO modular stage, which includes tiered step access to the front of the stage and a side wheelchair ramp.

Customised Stages

If you’re looking for something unique, there are endless possibilities to create a customised stage that exactly meets your needs. A recent example can be seen at AAMI Park Stadium, where our highly customised curved QUATTRO stage, featuring French Oak timber planks, looks absolutely stunning.

Existing permanent stages can also be customised to suit. An elegant example of this is the Hobsons Bay City Council project, where we designed and manufactured two freestanding QUATTRO box-style step units to add to their existing permanent stage to overcome limitations with access. The flexible step units can be moved and placed as needed allowing the council to cater for a diverse range of events.
